Well, today's post is a day late and will prove to be a dollar short, I'm afraid. Nashville saw its first white Christmas in almost two decades, but a peek through my patient's window was as close as I came. Apparently Santa doesn't grant MICU wishes.
He was young. So young. A pit in my stomach at 2 am and a sense of impending doom. A flurry of activity and barking orders. Knowing it's all in vain before we even start. So you wash your hands and move down the hall, pausing to remind each other how life should not be, should not end, that way.
Surely doesn't feel like Christmas. Kinda feels like just any other day, doesn't it? Except that this day has been set apart in rememberance that God Himself came in the form a man, born in a manger, that we might have life, and have it to the fullest. Emmanuel, God with us.
Lord, it is still well with my soul.
